In this issue let us share the many benefits of using ginger and lemon to flush out toxins from our system. Staying hydrated is very important, it supports every aspect of our health. However, many of us don’t drink enough water every day.

Starting your day with a glass of ginger water is a great way to keep you hydrated. Ginger has umpteen benefits, to name a few; it contains high level of gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidants properties. It has been shown to lower blood sugar levels and improve various heart disease risk factors in patients with type2 diabetes. It also speeds up emptying of the stomach, beneficial for those suffering from indigestion and stomach discomfort

Other than being refreshing, lemons are a storehouse of Vitamin C and potassium which work wonders for the skin. Drinking lemon water first thing in the morning gives the body a better chance to absorb these nutrients and provides a boost to our immune system.

To prepare,

Put together 1 sliced cucumber, 1 sliced lemon, 1 tablespoon of grated ginger and half a cup of mint in a container with 8 glasses of water. Store the mixture in a glass jug or a BPA-free jar and allow the water to infuse overnight.

Drink it over the next full day, one glass at a time at equally spaced intervals!
