Veda is a synonym for gyan. Various rishis have brought its various aspects into the physical world. Solutions to all possible problems, all scientific discoveries – past and future, all known and unknown arts… everything is in its ambit. Everything is from Bharat, which is also called the land of the Vedas, all rishis were from here. Vedic Martial Arts was developed by Agastya Muni. Bodhidharma, much later, took it to China, Kalaripattu of Kerala is its offshoot.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

This ancient art of self defense makes use of equipment such as spears, swords, sticks, knives and gada. Some simple looking things which the rishis carried are very potent tools also, but can’t be disclosed to normal people.

BENEFITS OF THE ART

Vedic Martial Arts is a subject of internal energy movements and aligning them to the biorhythms of the body to awaken hidden shaktis, which give the body a glow and radiance and reverse ageing, develop phenomenal strength in the body and enable one to ward off any attack easily. The body’s senses remain fully active due to this internal awakening, mantras, asans and some exercises are used to achieve this.

SELF DEFENSE THROUGH VEDIC MARTIAL ARTS

If you are attacked at any time or if anyone tries to grope you, irrespective of the number of people, the basic principle is that, at one time at most two people can come within arm’s length of touching you. Techniques are used to ward off and injure the attacker by striking gently at vital points also called marma sthans.

EARLIER YOU START, THE BETTER

There is no age group for ancient Indian sciences, but the younger you start the more are the chances of holding on to your youthful abilities and glow. In later ages it is not so effective as most of the sukra of the body has been lost and shaktis have faded, but personal attention of the Guru can awaken them. However, it’s rare for a Guru to do that to you unless there is a very strong reason.

MUST FOR WOMEN
